Did You Know?

Did You Know that….

  1. you can’t tickle yourself?

  2. the last time American Green cards were actually green was in 1964?
  3. it takes a week to make a jelly bean?
  4. Kermit the frog’s collar has 11 points?
  5. the football huddle originated at Gallaudet University — the world’s only accredited four-year liberal arts college for the deaf — in the 19th century when the football team found that opposing teams were reading their signed messages and intercepting plays?
  6. in English, “four” is the only digit that has the same number of letters as its value?
  7. that these useless facts were found on Deb and Jean’s Land O’ Useless Facts?

I love trivia and odd facts. I used to be a whiz at these kind of things until brain fog set in. I do try to test myself every now and then to keep my brain working a bit. I should do it more often. I find these kinds of things fun and entertaining.

I used to love crossword puzzles but I’m not able to do them any longer. So instead of getting frustrated I find something I can do but is somewhat challenging. Not only is it important to keep your body active if you’re able with exercise, but your mind needs some stretching too.

Try something you like and try it at a version you can handle. Then try to do a bit better. If it feels like work, either go down a level or look for something different to do. There’s many things available on the internet and in books. Peanut’s video game player even has some mind bender games now.

Ah yes, little known and useless facts - I love ‘em! I’ve probably forgotten more of them then I’ll ever remember but I sure do love being able to pull them out and impress (or is that annoy?) people!
