Page Rank
Bloggers everywhere are talking about the hit we’ve taken on our Page Rank from the almighty Groogle. I’ve been on a roller coaster ride with my blog for the last three weeks or so. Brain Foggles has always been a zero PR.
But then I got a sudden and very unexpected surprise of a jump to a PR 4. I was scooping up high paying reviews like there was no tomorrow. All I could think of was paying off some bills and being able to pay cash for Christmas this year. But that all suddenly changed.
It actually changed within 2 days. I went from a PR4 to a PR2 and then all the way back to a PR0. I was in a state of shock. When I visited some blogging forums I realized it wasn’t just me. Nope, Groogle had hit lots of bloggers. All I saw was the money I was expecting (oh why didn’t I listen to my dear old Dad?) was going to slip away no matter how hard I worked.
But then I realized something. I’ve come to love blogging. I miss it if I can’t post. I love being able to write my words about my life experiences. I love meeting other bloggers through reading their thoughts, beliefs, feelings, emotions and opinions.
I’ll keep on blogging and yes I’ll keep on reviewing sites, products, samples, other blogs, etc. because we need the extra money. Who doesn’t? I also know that even if money doesn’t come as easy as it did before, it was a very unexpected benefit of blogging.
If I can continue to write about my family, my faith and disABLITITY advocacy I’m a happy camper. So take that Grooggle.

I’m hoping there is some sort of glitch in the system but even if that isn’t the case, at least it looks like the IZEA (PPP) people are going to get rid of the Page Rank system anyway - which will be a big help to all of us who have felt the slap of Google on our pages.
I think the thing that hurts the most (besides the potential income loss) is that it feels like they have devalued my entire blog and I don’t mean in a monetary way. I see blogs that are “worse” than mine, where the author barely cranks out a post a week, that have gone up in rank while I have dropped to a 0 and I just don’t get it.
But, like yourself, I have no intentions of no longer blogging and both Technorati and Google can take a hike. Glad you’re sticking with it, too!

I feel the same way about blogging. I hate it when school even gets in the way of it. I love the fact that I’m on thanksgiving break right now and have time to blog. Yes Groogle stinks, but ppp will help us soon.
