Pacquiao Vs. Marquez Take Two

With Christmas getting closer each day and my cold leaving me pretty unable to much of anything, my mind’s been thinking of those I love that won’t be with us this year to celebrate the Holidays. After going through two deaths so close together in my family it’s easy to fall into thinking about my two Uncles that recently passed, my sister who was only 33 when she died almost 9 years ago and my Dad who’s been gone for over 11 years.

Although I don’t watch sports at all now, (well the Super Bowl and if we go to a baseball or hockey game I do enjoy those), I watched a lot of baseball and boxing on TV with my Dad especially as he was older and getting sicker. He was the one who taught me about these two sports. I grew up with boxing on TV and just love some of the older boxing greats. I also keep up a bit with boxing now.

So many of my friends don’t believe that I actually enjoy boxing. Yes it’s bloody but it’s a a difficult sport to learn. The footwork and skill of knowing your opponent make it more than just two people beating up on each other…a lot more. Here’s one boxing match that made the news and that will continue to do so:

On March 15, 2008 Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao will face Juan Manuel Marquez for a second time. Their first match in 2004 was one of the most thrilling matches of the year. Pacquiao knocked down Marquez three times in the first round! That usually means a win by a KO or TKO but Marquez was able to come back and win that match in a draw.

This upcoming match held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas will bring back these two fighters who have a grudge to finish. Fans want to see how this second match up will end as there’s some really good boxing to watch. Pacquiao/Marquez tickets are already on sale. Get them now as this is going to be one HOT fight.

The outcome of this rematch may cause some more boxing matches to look out for. How’s about Pacquiao vs. De La Hoya? Yes it’s possible if Pacquaio wins the March rematch.

My dad passed away 4 years ago after a long fight with cancer. He was only 60 and we never go to play the golf that he wanted to play together because I never got good enough. I stopped celebrating Christmas because of his death and only felt like putting up a tree this year.
