Love Is In The Air

I’ve been posting on my other blog My Chronic Life some really quick posts as I’ve been sick. I had to keep posting to continue my run with Blog 365. So I’d sneak out of bed and type a couple of lines just to get something written in a post.

I started out with a migraine but I’m in a full blown flare right now. For that it means I’m stuck in bed most of the time, sleeping or in a semi-sleeping state. I have major fatigue, really bad pain, trouble keeping my eyelids open (not due to feeling tired but due to the Myasthenia Gravis) and am pretty much feeling miserable. There’s other symptoms but I won’t bore you with the details.

Today of course is Valentines Day. I was going to get a hair cut, fix Hubby dinner and try to pamper him a little. Instead since Monday he’s been taking care of me. I’ve had to wait for him to get home before I can shower because I’m so weak so I’m not exactly looking or smelling that great when he walks in the door.

And then what did he get today from me? A card. We’re not big on gifts for each other but we do try to keep some romance going. I woke up to a card and a beautiful and tasty box of chocolates. He had to rush through work to finish in time to take Peanut to the dentist. I knew I couldn’t handle that.

After bringing her home, he went to the store for a prescription and food for dinner. He cooked, cleaned up, took care of Peanut with her issues with her new retainer and dealt with me crying because I was so depressed. Gosh, you’d think I’d get over this flare up business already.

How can I tell you how much I love Hubby? Just read about what he’s done! Look at the sacrifices he’s make, has make and will continue to do. No romance today but there’s always tomorrow. But one thing I know is that he loves me and I love him. The best thing is that I can count on that.

Peanut gave us a beautiful picture for today. Lady Ali sent a big box with a card for us all, some candy for me and Hubby and toys, bubble bath and other goodies for Peanut. I feel so blessed and happy! I feel loved!

Even if you don’t have a significant other, I pray that you shared your kindness with someone, even if it was just to be polite to a stranger.

Please pray for the students, staff and families at Northern Illinois University.

I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling so bad. I hope this flare-up dies down soon and you can get out of bed and feel as normal as possible soon.

Sounds like you had a nice Valentine’s Day in spite of it all. Mine was tolerable right up until a really bad 911 call but as bad as it made me feel, I feel so much worse for the poor woman on the other end. Maybe you could offer up a small prayer for her?

((Connie)) I hope you’re feeling better today. Regardless of all of it going on, you enjoyed love…isn’t it a blessing?
