Fruitful Day
I was out of the house all day today and boy do I feel like it. The chronic illness support group went well, thank God. We expected about 10 people including me but there were 7 of us instead. That’s to be expected since people wake up and may not feel well.
We had a lovely time socializing and having a snack first. Then we had some time to pray and discuss how we can feel lonely. We learned that to have a friend is to be a friend and that it is OK to ask for help. Our friends want to do something to help us. Don’t shut them out.
It was a long meeting for me (but well worth it) as I started at church to prepare at 10 AM. We didn’t leave until a bit after 1:30. I drove my aunt home and ate a late lunch at her house. I thought I’d have time for a quick nap before getting Peanut from school to take her to the dentist but I didn’t have time for that.
So off I went to get her, just in time. We zipped off to the dentist for her teeth cleaning. She did perfectly! She actually had to go on the “adult” side of the office as she needed a good cleaning. She’s been so afraid about brushing and flossing since the oral surgery and the new retainers that there was a lot of plaque build-up.
She was a champ though. She didn’t complain at all and was the perfect patient. I pray that she does that well when it’s time for her sealants. We’ll wait and see.
