I’m Confused

Confusion
I woke up early this morning to get myself a shower and dressed. I wanted to be awake enough so that I could handle Peanut if she needed some extra hugging and attention this morning. She actually did fine.

We got ready early so I could drive her to school early. The driving in and around her school area is atrocious. I’m always glad to know that we have good auto insurance because we see accidents and near misses too often.

I told her I’d park in the lot and walk her to the gate, which she use to love. When we got there though she told me to just drive her around the circle and leave her off. My little girl is growing up. So off she went to take her first FCAT.

When it was time to get Peanut from school I could feel that familiar fatigue setting in. I wanted so badly to be alert for Peanut so she could tell me about her day.

I was able to stay awake to hear her describe the test. She said that it was easy, that she finished early and had time to check her answers and that she still had time left until the testing time was over. She had to remain at her desk though and was very bored.

I ended up falling asleep around 4 after she had her snack. Hubby and my Mom decided to get some Greek food to bring home for my birthday. I was in such a deep sleep that I didn’t hear the phones ringing, the discussions, nothing. The next thing I knew is that I felt Peanut shaking me to get up. The first words out of my mouth were, “I’m confused”. So I was teased for the rest of the night about turning 45 and being confused.

I reminded my family that I’ve been confused for a lot longer than just recently.
