Church Renovating
I thought I was headed for a disaster today after being up so late last night, but things actually went well. We made it to Sunday School on time and I was able to focus and concentrate for class and for service.
Our Pastor and family had been on a two week vacation but they were back today. It was nice having them back with us. My church is going to be doing a lot of work on our very outdated building. It’s exciting to me to see what changes will be taking place. The amazing and inspiring thing is that the work itself will be done for free. All we have to pay for is supplies. We have a church that helped us when we were without a Pastor, Seven Rivers in Crystal River. They are providing their team that helps churches rebuild after hurricanes, tornadoes or other disasters. We also have a number of members who are volunteering their talent and time.
Tomorrow night we are having a meeting for the members to see what is in store for us. We are going to have some say in what colors will be used on the walls, the new chairs that will take the place of our pews and some other decorating idea.
I’m looking forward to seeing how we will be using the sanctuary as a multipurpose room. Our fellowship hall, restrooms, kitchen, nursery and Sunday school rooms are too small and outdated. Our dark interior will be brightened with new lighting.
With the addition of new members with a lot of children and more coming we need to update and expand. Our building needs to look inviting to visitors as well as to people who drive past or walk by too. This is a very exciting time in the life of my church. God is blessing us as we continue to ask his guidance and do his will.
