Fay Went Away
We had everything ready, flashlights, candles, bottled water and lots of junk food. We were being good Floridians listening to Gov. Christ tell us to be prepared because Tropical Storm Fay was acting unpredictable. And yes she was. She didn’t stay over the water like expected, so she probably wasn’t going to become a Hurricane. But she was headed straight for us. At least that was what we were hearing. The schools here were even closed for the day.
Peanut and I slept in the den together and stayed up late playing games, giggling and pretending that it was storming outside. It wasn’t. We ate junk food and had too much fun knowing that we’d have to be ready for an early night tonight and early morning tomorrow.
We slept in because there was no wind or thunder to wake us. When we did wake up we looked out the windows. It was cloudy but nothing was happening. It rained for about 10 minutes and we were glued to the window. We turned on the TV and learned that Fay turned toward the east totally away from us.
So we went back to pretending. We shut off the lights and computers and made believe we had no electricity. We stayed in our pj’s and ate more junk food. It was another “last day before school started”. And we made the best of it.

Sounds like a great time. Sometimes the days that don’t go where the weather people think it will are the best.

I was glad to hear that Fay didn’t pummel your area not just for my daughter but for you and your family.
I guess she’s still a potential threat but let’s hope that she just blows out to sea and goes away quietly.
