Hazy Guy and Howie Mandel on YouTube

There’s this awesome video on YouTube with Howie Mandel just finding someone on the street and talking to him about buy.com and how easy it is to use. The guy seems a bit hazy to me but who knows. Howie handles the whole thing like a pro as he does his comedy routines and definitely uses improv skills.

He does everything from talk to him about not leaving his house to go shopping, to showing him the buy.com website on a laptop to talking to the guy’s girlfriend on a cell phone. The best part of this video is when Howie gives him an XBox 360. They guy’s reaction is priceless. It’s hard to find this particular video because it’s a NO KEYWORD COMMENT ON YOUTUBE VIDEO. So here’s a link for you to see it.

Slept Through A Party

I knew about this party weeks in advance. I really thought I was going to end up not going. Maybe having that thought process caused me to actually not attend. Who knows? It was a party after church and for some reason I don’t get, Sunday School and church service always wears me out. Don’t get me wrong I love going to church. I look forward to Sunday each week. But when I get home I can barely stay awake to eat lunch and then I’m out for the afternoon.

During Sunday School and the service I feel energized. The time of worship together as a group of believers gets me going. I especially love the music and singing even though I can’t carry a tune. The Children’s Sermon is another favorite part of the service for me. Our Pastor does something unusual and quite daring, called A Sermon in the Box. This means every Sunday a child gets a shoe box to take home, put something in it and bring it back the next Sunday. The Pastor doesn’t see what’s in it until he is doing the sermon. And he has to tie in the object to his Sermon that he’ll be doing later. We’ve had some good laughs with this. One time a child brought in the skull of a head of an animal.

My Pastor’s sermons always have me thinking and trying to put what I learn into my everyday life. We have some exciting music each Sunday with a hymn of the month that we all learn too.

As I mentioned earlier our church is going through a huge renovation. Today we got to see a lot more progress in the continuing construction work. There’s been more work on the stage area. Some of the rooms have been painted. And we got an update on the progress in our bulletin. The one thing that I can’t wait for is for the ceiling fans to be taken down. They will be replaced with new lighting fixtures. The church is already looking so much brighter.

And back to the party. Peanut went to it on her own. I came home, ate a little lunch and set the alarm to wake me at 2. I didn’t wake up until after 4 when Hubby came home. Oh well. Another day, another party.

MommyFest Blog Party

I’m ready to party are you?

First my intro. (Hope it doesn’t bore you to tears.):

I’m the mom of two daughters, Peanut who is 9 years old and Lady Ali who is 21. Peanut is in third grade and loves to read, play video games and go to church. Lady Ali just got engaged and moved to Kansas to attend Graduate School. She’ll be majoring in Library Science. I’m 45 and have been married to Hubby for 11 years. He’s the most awesome man I know. He works as a Mail Carrier. and is medically retired from the Army National Guard. We are committed to each other and our family.

I love blogging! I’ve met lots of great people this way. I like to read, watch some TV, especially Lost, American Idol and movies on the Sundance Channel. I’m a Christian and am very active in my church. I also volunteer at Peanut’s school when I can. I do have multiple chronic illnesses which are autoimmune in nature so I have to be careful about taking care of myself.

I thought I’d post one of my fav videos about moms and some links to games for you and your children to play.

Here’s the video. The singer is the comedian Anita Renfroe. Warning: if you have bladder control issues, do something NOW!

Here’s some links to games when you hear those words we all dread….”I’m bored”. Actually it’s more like, “I’m boooored”.

The Kids Page has all kinds of word games, puzzles and coloring pages.

Family Fun has games for Moms and children. You do have to download them for a free trial. So I guess you’d have to pay to play. Oh well.

Shockwave has free online games of all types.

And of course there’s Facebook where you can carried away with Scrabulous and other games too. These are for just us Moms or older teens. If you’d like to join me on Facebook, this is my profile

I sure hope you’re gonna leave some comments and tell me if you liked my party! Take a look at the Sticky at the top of my blog too because I’ll be running a contest you may like. I’ll be visiting other MommyFest Party blogs so I’ll see you around!.
